Tennis – began playing at age 14, high school and Jr. College player. Club teams at Deerwood Country Club, men’s “B” team and USTA mixed doubles.
Golf – more for fellowship and getting away form everything. No real lessons, usually about a 95 on average courses. Flashes of brilliance followed by a chili dip or two for a double bogey.
Drums – started playing at age 12 and have always enjoyed it. I know it drove my mom nuts tapping on everything. Played in high school marching and symphonic band. Had the opportunity to play the drums for a local gospel quartet for almost 2 years. That’s where I met my wife Kim. Our quartet finally disbanded and Kim and I started attending First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. I joined the orchestra and started playing percussion once again in church. From 1985 to 2005 I did not play the drums or even own any sticks, but when the new Minister of Music started at Christ Church, he inspired me to begin playing again and now I play in the Praise band every week. Still love music of all kinds!
Woodworking / Industrial Art – over the last year I have acquired a variety of used building materials, steel support columns, wood beams, steel beams, steel posts and rubber flooring and am repurposing these materials into tables, plant stands, desks and sofa tables. Take a look at the samples in my pics.
